| Sky backgrounds are photos of sky. This category is similar to weather backgrounds, but weather backgrounds and wallpapers are much more dramatic. Our sky backgrounds usually feature “calm” clouds or stars. There are also some aurora backgrounds. Aurora is a colored light in the sky. The source of this effect is collision of different particles in Earth’s magnetosphere (magnetosphere is a magnetic field around an astronomical object). The color of the aurora effect depends on the collided particles and the solar wind. Aurora can be seen at the poles, it can be also rarely seen on other parts of our home planet. There are auroras on other planets too, especially on gas planets Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus, unfortunately there are no backgrounds and wallpapers of auroras from other planets in our backgrounds database. |
